Owens Charolais was born from generations of our family raising commercial cattle to make the most profit when they hit the scales. After several years of running Charolais bulls on our commercial cows Josh and Andrew decided they wanted to show a heifer at the ages of 14 and 15 and the choice seemed very clear to be Charolais.

After over 20 years of breeding Charolais we now are a 100% Charolais seed-stock operation. Our family has grown and so has our Charolais herd to over 200 Registered Charolais cows where we develop and sale bulls, heifers, and show heifers private treaty year round. We have built a herd around the type of cattle we like which are focused around making Charolais look and perform like Charolais cattle.

Owens Charolais is focused on genetics that are easy calving, consistent, sound, maternal, and perform for our customers. We hand feed our bulls daily and develop them on a ration that puts them in a good condition but they will not melt when put into our customers programs. We sale everything private treaty on our ranch since we have started and most of our business is word of mouth and the philosophy of we don’t want to sale you one bull we want to sale you a bull every time you need one. We have expanded our program into Embryo Transfer and we are continuously looking to make our cattle better so we can better serve our customers.
